It is a distinguished hallmark of excellence to be featured by World Atlas, one of the world's most trusted resources for geography and travel since 1994. In their recent feature, '7 Picture-Perfect Main Streets In The Southern United States,' they highlighted Natchitoches for its Antebellum architecture and unique charm.
However, the true highlight for us was their description of our 1885 estate. World Atlas crowned Violet Hill Bed & Breakfast as 'The Crown Jewel of the Cane River Lake,' noting that we provide far more than just a place to sleep, but a true luxury and historic experience in Natchitoches.

They were particularly impressed by our 19th-century history and our culinary merit. Their review specifically detailed our signature two-course breakfast, which begins with a choice of our famous Raspberry Croissant Bread Pudding topped with whipped cream or our Louisiana Bread Pudding with warm maple sauce.
To complete the experience, they highlighted our savory second course: a Rolled Omelets with Canadian bacon and Pepper Jack cheese, noting that these offerings 'help cement Violet Hill’s culinary merit and fame on Natchitoches’ main street.'

Innkeeper's Note: The Heart of the Kitchen
While we are honored by the national recognition of our culinary merit, the real magic happens in our kitchen every morning. This luxury and historic experience in Natchitoches wouldn't be complete without the talent and southern warmth of our innkeeper, Zeffie.
It is Zeffie’s dedication to every detail—from the perfect rise of the Raspberry Croissant Bread Pudding to the precise fold of her Rolled Omelet with Canadian bacon and Pepper Jack—that truly makes our 1885 estate feel like a home away from home. We are so proud to have her as part of our team as we celebrate 30 years of hospitality.
