Violet Hill a Christmas Festival Dazzler

For this year‘s trip home to Natchitoches to visit family burials reunite with the newlywed and nearly dead and bedazzled by the Christmas festival we decided to opt out out of the hotel St. Denis and enjoy our stay at Violet Hill B&B. The 5 suite 1880 home is situated on the waterfront bluff on Cane River Lake with a view of the northern top of the famous Christmas icons. The Victorian home is exquisitely furnished in sumptuous shades of purple and the Christmas ornamentation is splendid. We watched the fireworks from the dock and watched the Cane River Queen and other holiday boaters sail by.

Miss Zeffie, our gracious host and Chef is the heart of Violet Hill. Her remembrances and sweet graciousness made our stay ever so special including the home made cookies tucked into our rooms. The bedrooms and suites are comfortable and fresh. An inviting parlor with a bejeweled Christmas tree along with front and back porches were our favorite places to relax and remember. We hope to be back next year for the 100th Natchitoches Christmas Festival.
