We are always completely thrilled when travelers share their adventures at our historic waterfront estate! Google Local Guide Joshua Benningfield recently posted an incredibly thoughtful 5-star review and captured beautiful photos detailing his time exploring our property and the town.
Here is his full experience shared verbatim:
“The Violet Hill is a wonderful getaway in Natchitoches, perfectly situated along the Cane River with historic downtown just a short walk away. Whether you enjoy rocking on the front porch, relaxing on the back porch, or sitting by the river listening to the gentle sounds of the water flowing north, this property offers a peaceful retreat from everyday life. The grounds are beautiful, with massive oak trees and lush green grass creating a picturesque Southern setting. We stayed in the Prince Haithcoat Suite and were impressed from the moment we walked in. The suite features a gorgeous sitting area with a towering bookcase filled with interesting books and décor, along with plenty of comfortable seating throughout. The firm four-poster bed provided a great night's sleep, and the spacious two-person jacuzzi tub and shower offered a relaxing way to unwind. There was always plenty of hot water, and thoughtful amenities such as fresh towels, ice, bottled water, and a selection of teas and coffee were readily available. Parking is available on both sides of the property, providing ample space for guests, though larger vehicles may find maneuvering a bit tight. The true highlight of our stay, however, was the exceptional hospitality and attention to detail. Every aspect of the experience reflected genuine care for the guests. The breakfast each morning was outstanding—hearty, delicious, and the definition of Southern comfort food. Come hungry, because you certainly won't leave the table hungry. If you're looking for a relaxing, charming, and memorable stay in Natchitoches, The Violet Hill is an excellent choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning.” — Joshua Benningfield, Google Review (5/5 Stars)
